Key Responsibilities
•Use Sage Accounting to direct and perform bookkeeping and accounting functions, such as posting journal entries, calculating payroll, reconciling accounts, preparing trial balance of books, etc.;
•Assist with all aspects of accounting procedures, including month-end
•Prepare and record financial documents and payment cheques for payroll, HST return, payroll remittance, worker compensation, and other government documents and bills;
•Calculate daily payments received and reconcile with total sales
•Oversee and ensure proper flow of Accounts Receivable / Payable and inventory control
•Monitor and reconcile inventory and conduct physical inventory counts regularly
•Compile month-end and year-end adjusting inventory reports;
•Maintain employee information and process all employee payroll-related payments
•Implement accounting working processes and standard
We are looking for someone who has:
•Post-secondary education in accounting or related field training
•Proven experience as a junior accountant, ideally within the retail or wholesale industry
•Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Sage Accounting;
•Demonstrated experience with internal inventory audits & systems
•Experience working in fast-paced retail is considered an asset
•Strong collaboration, interpersonal, and team-centric skills while being comfortable with changing priorities
•Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently
•Can manage multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
•Above-average analytical and organizational skills are needed for the completion of reports and documentation
•Excellent attention to detail
